COMPANY OVERVIEW

Led by a team combining energy and experience, Gippsland Offshore is an oil and gas explorer that has an active new ventures team looking for opportunities in proven hydrocarbon generating basins where there are technical challenges to finding the oil and gas accumulations and bringing their expertise to unlock the petroleum prospectivity.

Gippsland Offshore’s business includes forming strategic alliances and partnerships with industry leaders in exploring in these technically challenged terrains. An example is the use of the unique BHP Billiton FALCON® airborne gravity gradiometry technology (under exclusive agreement to Gippsland Offshore) to breath new life into existing oil and gas generating provinces through better geological mapping and hence prospect identification.

This allows us to move closer to our goal of exploring, finding and developing sustainable and profitable oil and gas resources for the benefit of shareholders and partners.

History

Gippsland Offshore Petroleum Limited was created in December 2004 to explore and test a new hydrocarbon migration and trapping theory on the flanks of the prolific Gippsland Basin, offshore south-east Australia. It listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in January 2005 after raising AUD12M to carry out this work and exploit other opportunities for their investors.

Since this time, the company has expanded the portfolio of exploration projects to include a large project offshore Jamaica, Kenya, France and Madagascar.
